If only… Annie’s soul cries out with regret. Twelve years have passed since the death of her parents, but Annie Wade still blames herself and is convinced she’s unworthy of love and happiness. Despite the devotion of her faith-filled grandmother and protective older brother, Annie is constantly aware of the cost of her broken promise, and what she perceives as punishment from a God she can’t trust.

When Annie begins dating Connor McNeil, she discovers early on that he offers exactly what she’s determined to deny herself. He is her brother’s best friend and hard-working partner in Wade’s Construction. Grandma adores him and so do the children at the preschool Annie manages. And, he’s a new, church-going Christian determined not to repeat past mistakes. With guilt dictating her choices, Annie tells Connor he deserves a woman who will believe it when she sings “Jesus Loves Me” to his children. A chance encounter at the hospital, when her twin nieces are born, sets Annie on a rocky path to faith and forgiveness she could never have imagined.

Letting Love In Tender Heart edition by Teresa Lynn Religion Spirituality eBooks

This is the first in the Tenderheart series of books by Teresa Lynn. It is a well written piece, one that addresses guilt, the sad consequences of turning your back to love, and redemption. It's a slightly 'darker' book than Fighting For Love, even though both books address intense subject matter without going into too much graphic detail.

As always, Teresa sends a message of hope, love and faith, through her clean and beautiful writing. Annie, Conner, and even the unbearable Spencer, are well developed characters who each deliver interesting and insightful reading. I think you'll also enjoy meeting the rest of the gang. If you do read this book first, watch for Becca and Nick, they are the characters highlighted in Fighting For Love, and the Thanksgiving scene in Letting Love In sets the stage for their journey.

The books in the Tenderheart series are undeniably Christian fiction. However, the author delivers the message with a light touch, never figuratively hitting the reader over the head with her Bible. Her message is one of love and hope, applicable to us all, believers and non-believers. Download a sample of the book today. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Letting Love In Tender Heart edition by Teresa Lynn Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were memorable. I was hooked right away. I would love to read more from this author.
I don't usually read this genre of books, but this one intrigued me. I was hooked within the first chapter. I love this book and all of its characters. Teresa Lynn is an amazing writer. Beauty just flows from her fingertips when she writes. The whole story flows in a way that will keep you wanting more. And all of the characters are so human, they could be someone you know. I HIGHLY recommend this book. You won't regret reading it.Devil's Lair
I usually read crime books so this was not normal reading for me but I couldn't put the book down and I think every woman who reads this book will totally fall in love with Connor. I know I did. Cant wait for your next one.
I first read an early draft of this in my writer’s group at least 10 years ago, which was significantly different that the final version. I was very impressed with the author’s ability to convey deep emotion—both suffering and joy. She has a beautiful lyrical style. Her portrayal of family relationships is lovely.

However, while there is a lot to like about the author’s writing, I do not like this book. It all comes down to believability and a lost opportunity to explore the nature of guilt in an authentic way. The main character Annie feels guilty over the death of her parents when she was 10 years old. She first was exposed to the death of her grandfather at an earlier age which triggered her fear of the dark and panic attacks. It was a panic attack that she had at a sleepover that led to her parents’ racing to her rescue and being killed in a car accident that triggered Annie’s self-loathing, guilt and war with God.

Annie’s emotional turmoil burned from the time her grandfather died. But her parents didn’t appear to be capable of teaching her to effectively deal with losing a loved one to death.

By the time Annie lost her parents, her grandmother and close friends of her family chose prayer and the “God has a plan” route instead of involving a therapist to help when Annie’s torment had turned into a raging fire that impacted her mental health.

Annie was so full of self-hatred that she rejected her soulmate, Connor because she didn’t feel good enough for him. Only to later get impregnated by a playboy lawyer after casual, unprotected sex. Unfortunately, she agrees to marry him without realizing that he is a violent drunk. He beats her while she is pregnant and she miscarries her child. The author mentions this in passing a couple of times. I was floored by this information.
Annie’s husband MURDERS her unborn child and she stays with him for another 3 years! She risks her own life as well as that of any other potential unborn children if she gets pregnant again. It wasn’t as if she didn’t have a family she could move in with. There is no mention from the author that Annie felt in any way guilty about losing this child. Surely, if she felt guilty as a child for something that she couldn’t control, how could she not feel guilty as an adult over the consequences of actions she could control? The author has created an inconsistent and unbelievable character.

The fact that the author doesn’t explore Annie’s feelings about the murder of a child is a major plot hole. It takes Annie catching her abusive husband in bed with his brother’s girlfriend to finally leave him. And afterward she suddenly forgives God and finds peace. Huh? Catching hubby in an act of infidelity is worse than hubby causing her to miscarry their child? That’s just ridiculous.

Once I learned about the dead child, I quit caring about Annie. It was only my regard for the author and her writing that compelled me to finish the book.To not explore the issue of the death of Annie’s unborn child and her feelings about it, makes this a shallow, sentimental tale with little substance. Teresa is a better author than this.
This book is a must read! It has everything... Love, romance, faith, grace, healing, growth. I really enjoyed it!!

I just downloaded the next book in the series "Fighting For Love". I look forward to seeing what will transpire between Bec & Nick.

Thanks Teresa Lynn, keep writing and I'll keep reading! = }
Teresa's writing style is beautiful; the phrasing of descriptions that often seem mundane come to life and the characters are very real, bringing back memories of what I wished love could have been, and the power of one's faith. My heart strings were pulled constantly.
Just finished this wonderful book. I have to say that I read a lot of romance books, secular and christian. This book delivered it all. Theresa Lynn is fantastic! I am craving more from this writer.I hope she has more books coming. I was so inspired with this story and the message of Gods love and forgiveness. This is a must read to anyone who is hurting you will most defiantly come away refreshed and renewed. Loved this book!!!!
