Carlisle Cops Book Four

Fisher Moreland has been cast out of his family because they can no longer deal with his issues. Fisher is bipolar and living day to day, trying to manage his condition, but he hasn't always had much control over his life and has self-medicated with whatever he could find.

JD Burnside has been cut off from his family because of a scandal back home. He moved to Carlisle, but brought his Southern charm and warmth along with him. When he sees Fisher on a park bench on a winter's night, he invites Fisher to join him and his friends for a late-night meal.

At first Fisher doesn't know what to make of JD, but he slowly comes out of his shell. And when Fisher's job is threatened because of a fire, JD's support and care is more than Fisher ever thought he could expect. But when people from Fisher's past turn up in town at the center of a resurgent drug epidemic, Fisher knows they could very well sabotage his budding relationship with JD.

Fire and Snow (Audible Audio Edition) Andrew Grey Randy Fuller Dreamspinner Press LLC Books

There is a somewhat nebulous character hanging around a few scenes in this book who, if Andrew Grey's past tricks are going to continue, might end up as one of the MCs in the next in this series--if there is a next. If there is, and I guessed wrong, well, let's see what hot young cop he can come up with the next time. If there isn't, it wouldn't be a bad thing because this book has all the elements of being a series finale.

It has a perfectly screwed-up coupling of patrolman Jefferson Davis Burnside (JD), an escapee from the Charleston, S.C. society horrors he won't define, and Fisher Moreland, a reclusive native of the Carlisle, Pennsylvania area whom JD befriends on a sympathetic whim, and who turns out to be quite a head trip for everyone concerned.

Everyone includes all the couples from the first three books--three unspeakably attractive cops and their hot lovers--who interact socially and professionally with JD and Fisher when they work their way toward a relationship and also into a serious bunch of danger reminiscent of the first book in the series.

What is so good here is that both JD and Fisher have serious issues with their families, each based on different experiences, which are not to be divulged here. Grey handles these issues cleverly by having each of them bring each other "out" in terms of counseling each other to be himself, while ignoring his own advice. This kind of scenario can be frustrating to a reader but Grey handles it adeptly by opening up each door to the past for both of them while they are in each other's arms, or faces.

The upshot here is that if you put these four covers side-by-side, you would see perfect replicas of how these characters look and feel to you as a reader, and eight reasons why you should consider moving to Carlisle and getting a traffic ticket as soon as possible.

Fire and Snow (Audible Audio Edition) Andrew Grey Randy Fuller Dreamspinner Press LLC Books Reviews

I enjoyed this book. Like the others they are sweet and the sexual content is not graphic at all but sweet. It's quite tamer than the others. Not sure how accurate biploar condition is explored in this book through Fisher's personality but you'll like him enough. The more I read the series though, the less intrigue they stand to have. Granted, there is always the beauty of the characters; they are always uniquely flawed to give a beautiful romance. However, the story lines are becoming predictable and are looking more like traditional romance arcs. Except for the serial with Carter, all the partners the policemen have are "damsels" in distress and the policemen come to the rescue. I do like that Fisher came to JD's help in this book too but the effect wasn't there because he didn't even know what he did. As usual, expect at least one thing that won't solve itself in these series
Again another awesome read from Andrew Grey. He never disappoints.. This the 4th Sequel in the Carlisle Cops series. Again the characters continue to intertwine from the beginning. This story brings JD in who has only been at the Carlisle PD for 6 months. He came from a family that turned him away due to his sexuality except his aunt. That was the reason he left Charleston and came to Carlisle for a new life. When he is on patrol he sees Fisher on the park bench. There is something about Fisher, something strange. When he finds him the next time JD wants to get to know him better. Fisher had an accident awhile back which changes his life leaving him with bipolar disorder, anxiety, and memory loss. Because of Fisher's past, one of darkness and drugs, he feels that he is not good for JD so he keeps pushing him away, but JD is impatient when it comes to something he wants and he wants Fisher. Slowly breaking through Fisher's barriers they become very close and intimate. But Fisher's past wants to haunt him. The drug trade has come to Carlisle and they are coming after Fisher. Between the violence these thugs are bringing and Fisher's insecurity, the story gets very dramatic, but with Fisher's help and JD, things start happening. Then JD's mother and Fisher's ex-boyfriend come into the picture. There is never a dull minute in this story. It's a beautiful story of two beautiful men who find each other and fall in love. Life doesn't have anything on them. Don't miss this one. Make sure you read these stories in order. Loved it.
I love this Andrew Grey series ! I always learn something important. The author lets us all know that there is someone out there for everyone. No matter what, there is some one who will "get" you, love you and care about you. Beautiful. Fisher is a sweet man, brain damaged from an accident, who struggles daily in life. JD is a Carlisle policeman, rejected by his family, he came to this town for acceptance, friendship and work. JD finds Fisher on a park bench, zoned out, and ends up inviting him to eat with the guys. During the meal Fisher is bright-eyed, and fine. They get to talk more next time, and share kisses that taste like hope and promise. Deep conversations, mind ramblings and time gives the guys a chance to bond. Meanwhile there is an ongoing drug gang problem, and Fisher gets in the crosshairs. The underlying story of the dealers is great, with lots of action and information. We are understanding Fisher and his issues, and of course get to see the guys advance and have super hot sexy times. Fisher seemed aloof at times, but it stemmed from his strict regime he follows to function smoothly. He's a smart, wonderful man, and perfect for JD. They truly need each other. More happens, but you'll have to find out by reading this tale.
I liked the characters, the plot, the sexiness, and the HEA. I've read the whole series, and love to see the other men again as they have moved forward. Great writing.. Highly recommended. ENJOY !!!
